Experts Diane Goldstein & Luis Alvarado weigh in on Proposition 64

When you go to vote this November, you'll have 18 different propositions to sort through...but one of them - Prop 64 - could end up having the most impact on the state.

It's the measure that would legalize marijuana in California, similar to what voters have approved in other states - including Colorado and Oregon, but there are some important differences.

Supporters say Prop 64 would legalize and also regulate pot sales. Taxes on marijuana could raise as much as a billion dollars a year.

The money would pay for things like teen drug intervention, police training, and protecting the environment from illegal growers.

But critics say Prop 64 ignores public health issues.

Joining us on good day la is prop 64 supporter, Diane Goldstein. Diane is a retired lieutenant with the Redondo Beach Police Department, and a board member of ‘Law Enforcement Against Prohibition.’

Luis Alvarado represents the ‘No on 64’ side. He's also an advocate for causes that affect Latino families.
