It's no understatement to say Norman Lear changed television during the 1970's. ‘All In The Family’ which was actually the most popular TV show of the entire decade.
Then there was ‘Sanford and Son’, starring Redd Foxx.
And an ‘All In The Family’ spinoff that ran for 11 years of its own, titled ‘The Jeffersons.’
40-plus years later, Norman Lear is still working in television.
He is and executive producer and a reporter in the new documentary series, ‘America Divided.’
In the first episode, he attempts to rent an apartment from a landlord who's just told another prospective tenant that there's nothing available.
‘America Divided’ premieres Friday nights at 9:00pm on EPIX.
