Henry Simmons from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. talks about being a man

Henry Simmons plays Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Simmons says the show is part of the Avengers movie and now it’s made into a TV show. His character doesn’t have a super power in the show, but if he could have one, it would be “strength and speed.”

You may have recognized Simmons from NYPD Blue, where he spent 6 years on that show. “Honestly, every show you go on it’s really like family. You’re working together long hours, and I’ve been blessed to work with people that are wonderful. So when it ends, it hurts a little bit.”

Steve asked him what it is to be a man, in which he responded, “Being a man doesn’t have anything to do with bravado or perceived strength. The real strength of a man is taking care of your family. It’s spending time with your children, your wife. Being present, providing for them, but not lording over them, but being part of a team. That’s what it’s about.”
