Gillian Anderson is back as Agent Scully in 'The X-Files' return

‘The X-Files’ is back…and so is Gillian Anderson. She's returning as Agent Dana Scully on the 6-episode limited series.

Here's Scully talking to an old friend.

In the interview with Steve Edwards and Lisa Breckenridge, Gillian talks about the much hyped return and what it took to bring back such and iconic role.

Anderson says she always had the desire to return to the role, but they never really considered doing the series on television again. But in the end, she just couldn't resist - even now that she is a mother of two and living in the United Kingdom.

"As enthusiastic as people could tank, but we'll see." Anderson explains about the bond between Mulder and Scully, "We are together...but we are not a couple. It would be so boring...we need the tension!"

‘The X-Files’ premieres on FOX Sunday, January 24 immediately after the NFC Championship Game...and then airs in its Monday night time slot starting on January 25.
