Bryshere Y. Gray talks the midseason finale of 'Empire'

‘Empire’ entered its midseason finale on Wednesday..and it was intense and unpredictable. Bryshere Y. Gray was here yesterday to talk about those unexpected twists.

Bryshere Y. Gray aka rapper Yazz the Greatest, is best known for his role on FOX’s hit TV series “Empire.” Currently in its second season, Gray plays Hakeem Lyon, series leads’ Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson’s youngest son, a charming, charismatic, up and coming rap star. Prior to his first-ever acting gig on “Empire,” Gray, 22, played high school football and worked at a Pizza Hut in Philadelphia, his hometown. His role on the show has lead him to land a record deal with Columbia Records.

Gray has performed at Jay Z’s 2013 Man in America Festival, Sunoco’s Welcome America 4th of July Celebration, the annual Roots Picnic Festival, Philadelphia’s signature annual Odunde Celebration and Power 99’s 2013 Powerhouse concert. He has also opened for rappers Fabolous and 2 Chainz. Most recently, he has performed at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards and the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, and was nominated along with his “Empire” cast members for the 2015 Teen Choice Award in the category of “Choice TV: Chemistry.”

Gray spent this past spring on the “YTG Tour” of juvenile facilities to help kids at risk. Gray currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
