Katie Stevens talks Karma and 'Faking It'

Katie Stevens was a contestant on ’American Idol’. Now she co-stars on the MTV show ‘Faking It’ in which she plays a high-school student named ‘Karma.’ On this week's show Karma has some 'splaining to do.

Katie Stevens is a versatile young actress and musician who has quickly established herself as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after, vibrant young talents. The 22-year-old, originally from Middlebury, CT, stars as Karma in the hit MTV Comedy series “Faking It.” The series, which is currently in its second season and is executive produced by Carter Covington, centers on Karma (Katie) and her best friend Amy who love each other – in slightly different ways. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launch them to instant celebrity status. Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma and Amy decide to keep up their romantic ruse. Katie most recently guest starred in the CBS crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” series finale playing Catherine Willows’ (Marg Helgenberger) daughter, Lindsey Willows.

Katie began performing and singing at age 3, participating in Broadway intensive camps, local and school theater, and eventually landing on the “American Idol” stage. In August 2009, she auditioned for “American Idol” in Boston, Massachusetts and sang "At Last", where all four judges (including guest judge Victoria Beckham) advanced her to Hollywood. At the Boston audition, Judge Kara DioGuardi called her one of the most talented 16-year olds she had ever seen.

Katie currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Nashville
