(FOX 11) - This week on Wednesday’s Child, we’re back at our favorite space, Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, California and we tripled our fun with a loving sibling set of three.
Pictured in the top left photo, meet Alexis (Center), Veronica (Left) and baby brother, Treyvon (Right). It was story time in the Physics Forest, followed by, you guessed it – a physics lesson. The trio were mesmerized by the stories and took to the activity with a sense of adventure culminating in a feeling of accomplishment.
Big sister, Alexis (2011) is an adorable girl with an easy-going temperament. She often looks out for her younger sister and brother. Alexis is doing well in school and performing at grade level. She hopes to be an artist when she grows up.
Just a year apart, Veronica (2012) is a sweet, caring and sensitive girl. She loves playing dress up with her dolls as well as playing outside with her little brother. On this day, she brought her plush dog and furry friend to join in on activities. Veronica is in kindergarten and loves going to school, and mimics her big sister. Veronica says she wants to be in the Army when she grows up.
Treyvon (2013) is the youngest of the group. He’s an energetic boy who loves to climb and explore his environment. It’s no surprise then, that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. Whether indoors or outside, Treyvon relishes in being the center of attention. Treyvon has “graduated” from early start services and is now attending preschool during the school year of 2017-2018. His caregiver proudly reports that Treyvon can speak both English and Spanish in complete sentences.
DCFS strives to keep families, especially siblings together. Due to space issues in foster homes at times, this isn’t always possible. Alexis is in a separate placement from Veronica and Treyvon, and maintains sibling visits regularly. We are looking for an adoptive family for all three children – a family with a great sense of adventure and appreciation of sibling relationships.
