Mark Hamill reveals Luke Skywalker might be gay in 'Star Wars'

"The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams recently opened up about the possibility of a gay character in the next "Star Wars" film -- and his wish may have already been answered.

Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, talked to The Sun about the issue and revealed his character could be gay.

"Fans are writing and ask all these questions, 'I'm bullied in school…I'm afraid to come out'. They say to me, 'Could Luke be gay?' I'd say it is meant to be interpreted by the viewer," the actor said. "If you think Luke is gay, of course he is. You should not be ashamed of it. Judge Luke by his character, not by who he loves."

The Sun points out that Luke only ever kissed one character in the hit franchise: his sister Princess Leia.
