Lindsay Lohan says she really wants a 'Mean Girls' sequel

In "grool" news of the day: Lindsay Lohan said she really wants a sequel to "Mean Girls."

In a recent interview with Variety, Lohan said she still wants to act and would like to do a follow-up to the 2004 cult classic.

"I've said it so many times, and so many people have asked me, and I think we'd have so much fun doing it," Lohan told Variety.

Lohan said she's even spoken to "Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels, who produced the film.

"Tina [Fey] and Lorne [Michaels] are so amazing, and to bring everyone back together would be great. Last time I was in New York, I went up to Lorne, and I was like, 'Please!' It's in their hands."

In 2016, Lohan said in an interview she'd even written a treatment for the film, and reportedly pitched it to Fey.

Lohan also said for a sequel to work, it would need to have all the original cast.

"I don't know what else you could do, unless someone is killed off, but that would not be 'Mean Girls.' It has to be everyone," she told Variety.

The original "Mean Girls" cast includes Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Lacey Chabert, Amy Poehler, Amanda Seyfried, Jonathan Bennett and Lizzy Caplan.

The comedic film tells the story of a homeschooled teen who grew up in Africa and moves to a suburban U.S. town, where she quickly learns the about the cruel nature of cliques and "being popular" in high school.

Written by Tina Fey, the film has reportedly grossed $129 million worldwide.
