LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - This week in the Los Angeles, a federal judge struck down the city's policy of seizing and destroying personal property found in sweeps of homeless encampments.
The sweeps and seizures have been a significant point of disagreement over many years.
Also this week, during his State of the City address, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti pledged renewed support for plans to elminate homelessness in Los Angeles.
To bolster that commitment, Garcetti promised that his new budget will include a ten-fold increase in the amount of money designated for homeless programs.
