Volunteers are the unsung heroes as they rescue cub at the Butte Fire

This story touched my heart for two reasons - the most obvious, of course, is this poor mountain lion cub found badly burned and emaciated at the ‪‎Butte Fire (north of San Francisco).

At only 9.1 lbs, the mountain lion kitten is seriously underweight and fragile, its paws burned; veterinarians say it's prognosis is "guarded". Poor baby.

The second reason I think this story is important comes in the headline: "VOLUNTEERS rescue badly burned lion cub found in Butte Fire"

Volunteers.

They are the unsung heroes of our world. We almost never know their names, see their faces and rarely ever do they get the credit they so richly deserve.

There are no rewards or ticker-tape parades for them yet they make our world, our lives so much better.
Thank you, "Volunteers" for saving this cub. For being out there in what I can imagine are some pretty miserable conditions trying to help others.

I wish I could name you all, shake your hands and throw you a parade but I'm sure all of that doesn't matter to you.

So for now, I'll just have to say, Thank you and God bless you.

And many prayers for the healing of the cub.
