Auroralina (2007) is a young girl with such a wide array of interests, hobbies and talents that it can be hard to know where to begin!
Auroralina enjoys riding bike, cheerleading, watching TV and playing on her tablet. Her artistic side incorporates a liking of music and an admiration of art as well as efforts at drawing and dancing. Auroralina is an enthusiastic reader who is also keen on shopping, and it was these aspects that guided us to make a trip to Once Upon a Time Bookstore in Montrose, CA to discover more about Auroralina.
Auroralina is a bright girl with a positive attitude. She is an admirable student who has been tested for the Gifted & Talented Education (GATE) program. Auroralina describes reading books like watching a movie in her mind, stating, “I can imagine what I’m reading”. Auroralina is well-liked by her peers and has a lot of friends at school. She participates in an after- school program which offers the opportunity to work on homework as well as participate in other activities like drawing and dancing. As for current career considerations, Auroralina’s loves of animals not only drew her to the bookstore’s resident cat but also has her contemplating the idea of becoming a veterinarian when she grows up.
Auroralina has a positive relationship with her current foster parents and gets along well with everyone in the foster home. When it comes to foods, Auroralina says she loves Mexican food and that Taco Bell is one of her favorite fast food places to eat. Auroralina’s primary language is English but she understands some Spanish and this summer she is participating in a reading advancement program at school. To help encourage Auroralina’s passion for reading and learning, Once Upon A Time Bookstore owner Maureen Palacios gifted Auroralina with a bundle of books – for summer reading, and beyond!
Auroralina can be shy and quiet when one first meets her, but she becomes more engaging as she warms up to someone.
