(FOX 11) - Beautiful Alina has much more than a sense of adventure; she has a spirit of hope that there is a family out there for her. Commensurate to Alina’s spirit, Wednesday’s Child teamed up with Echoes of Hope, brought Alina to her very first hockey game.
Echoes of Hope is founded by Luc & Stacia Robitaille (hockey royalty!) with a focus on helping foster youth. Not only did Alina get an inside look behind the scenes before the game, she had a VIP tour given by NHL hall of famer and former LA King, Mr. Robitaille himself. She also enjoyed having dinner at the Lexus Club, listening to a full explanation of everything “hockey” and watching the game in a luxury suite and up close on the glass.
We found Alina to be very enthusiastic and engaging. She has a wonderful sense of humor which made her very fun to be with. She loves outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, camping, fishing, going to the amusement parks and playing sports.
On this night, we made Alina a hockey fan as she cheered her new favorite team to victory. A lot of children in foster care feel unseen and unheard. We hope to find her a “fan” of her own, a family that sees, hears and loves her.
In a family, Alina sees opportunities, dignity, laughter, love, loyalty, faith and support. These just happen to be the tenements of Echoes of Hope Foundation and what we hope for Alina.
