In off-roading, there’s no map to help navigate bumps and barriers along the way. Likewise, there is no map for children in foster care to help them navigate the bumps and barriers that lie in their path.
But on this week’s Wednesday’s Child, the Desmadre Off Road Team and 4 Wheel Parts join forces to help a loving sibling set of 5 – Santiago (2003), Erika (2012), Eric (2013) and Emiliano (2014) and Emily (2015) – get a good jump start on navigating the holidays despite spending them in foster care. Their adventure included holiday crafts as well as a visit from Santa on an off-road “sleigh” loaded with gifts for each boy and girl of this sibling set!
Santiago (2003) is an industrious youngster who likes school and has many friends. He’s a great big brother who helps look after his siblings and is attuned to their needs. Santiago has a good sense of humor and is respectful. And while he always makes time for his younger siblings, in his own free time he likes to read, play with Legos, play video games, and enjoy outdoor activities. Santiago is very attached to his sister and brothers and wants to grow up in a permanent home with them.
Erika (2012) is a calm and loving little girl who likes to play with dolls but currently her favorite pastime is playing with her toy kitchen. Erika follows directions well and will be starting pre-school soon.
Eric (2013) is still in the stage of exploring and developing his own likes and dislikes (although currently the picky eater of the bunch) while also learning how to share. The off-road team was just the ticket for Eric because one thing he knows he likes is (toy) vehicles.
Emiliano (2014) is starting to walk and be potty-trained. He’s a growing boy with a good appetite who is affectionate and likes to wave and smile.
Emily (2015) is just months old and has a calm disposition. She’s healthy and makes an adorable addition to just about anything.
