LA's Most Wanted: The death of 62-year-old Patricia Davis

- Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau are in a very difficult situation.  They say they know who murdered 62-year-old Patricia Davis but they can't find the witnesses they need to prove it.

Davis was beaten to death at Compton's Tragniew Park on Alondra Boulevard at Central Avenue.  The tennis courts are famous because they are where Venus and Serena Williams were taught to play by their father.

The victim's family says she was fond of visiting Tragniew Park almost every day because she could spend time with her friends.  For health reasons, Ms. Davis was usually in a wheelchair although she could walk.   According to her sister, Ms. Davis also had serious mental issues.

On Thursday evening, August 4, 2016, Ms. Davis and a 67 year old women got into an argument in the park.  Investigators say the women knew each other and had argued many times in the past.  However this time, detectives say the older woman pulled Ms. Davis out of her wheelchair, threw her to the ground and beat her so badly it resulted in her death.

The older woman was arrested that night but detectives eventually had to release her because they could not find additional unbiased witness to what happened.  According to detectives, the woman they believe responsible for the death of Patricia Davis still spends much of her day at Tragniew Park.

There were many people in the park that evening, including some who were there to play tennis and participate in a soccer game. Lieutenant John Corina is hoping to hear from anyone who witnessed the fatal arugment.  His telephone number is (323) 890-5500.  Callers who wish to be anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
