“I’ve never let a reporter in here. “ Tony Shooshani showed me around his private garage full of exotic Italian cars. Private and secret. You might be surprised to know, there is a priceless collection of vintage and modern Ferraris, plus a couple of rare Alfa Romeos stashed away in a garage on a busy thoroughfare in Los Angeles.
I was given exclusive access because Shooshani will show a handful of these exotic beauties in the first of what’s planned to be annual http://lasummerconcours.com
Do you want to see an Alfa Romeo 8C and an 8C Spider? Or how about a hybrid LaFerrari? Or my favorite, the Sergio in the custom color, Azuralolo. Tony says, he “worked” with his 10-year old daughter Lauren to pick just the right color blue. The custom color is now available as a special order, should I ever find myself in the market for a Ferrari. (umm, right.)
Way too many of my guy friends would have been in nirvana talking to Tony about the number of each of his cars in existence in the world (mostly few) or how many horsepower under the hood of each. (always many.) Confession.. Most of this was lost on me.
More up my alley: talking food with celebrity chef Mark Peel. http://www.chefmarkpeel.com He’s arguably best known for helming Campanile. But of late, you could have seen him on Top Chef or Knife Fight. He’s cooking for the event and promises food that “isn’t too drippy.” His effort to make sure Tony’s cars and the rest of the cars worth north of $50 million, stay pristine. He’ll be serving up his famous grilled cheese, made with La Brea Bakery bread https://www.labreabakery.com and aged gruyere plus the Mark Peel magic touch. Coincidentally, I had enjoyed said sandwich just last month.
As good as he is at the grill, he also nailed it when he described Tony's cars as sexy, sleek and looking like they’re going 100 miles per hour, even while parked. See Tony’s cars and the rest of the $50 million dollar LA Summer Concours collection this Saturday 10am to 4pm.
