LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Perhaps the only thing as shocking as the untimely death of Prince was the discovery a few days later that he died without a will.
In legal terminology, Prince died "intestate."
The challenge his siblings and the courts face now is to distribute his estate, estimated at more than $300,000,000, fairly and equitably.
As our lives become more complicated, the importance of having a will increases. Without one, it can be very difficult for the surviving family and friends to figure out how one's assets and liabilities should be divided.
Nazanin "Naz" Barouti visits Midday Sunday to share her expertise on wills, living trusts and other matters of life and death.
Her website is at www.baroutilaw.com.
