See if your favorite made the cut: 2019 Emmy nominations announced

The nominees for the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards were announced by celebrity presenters Ken Jeong and D'Arcy Carden from The Wolf Theater at the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood Tuesday morning.

This year's nominations follow the heels of the final season of "Game of Thrones." The 32 nominations the show earned set a record for most nominations in a single year by any drama series.

In addition, Netflix and HBO continued to prevail as both networks dominated in multiple categories.

Fan favorites "Big Little Lies, "Stranger Things," and "The Handmaid's Tale," were not eligible.

Ratings winner "When They See Us" directed by Ava Duvernay caught the attention of the Television Academy. The drama that told the real life story of five young men charged when raping a jogger in New York's Central Park in 1989 was nominated for Best Limited Series. Actors Niecy Nash, Aunjanue Ellis, and Jharrel Jerome also earned nominations for their performances.

Other stars also took to social media to share their reactions:
