Are You Smarter Than A Mathlete?

This month, four students from St. Mary's school travelled to Norway to represent the United States in the International Maths Quest Competition. For the second year in a row, these math whizzes brought home the first place trophy, and today, our Good Day LA anchors are putting their smarts to the test with a math competition of our own!

Coach and St. Mary's School Teacher Nancy Qushair was on Good Day LA with students Daniel Palfi, Leyton Breeese, Amelia Kang, and Kendrick Choi.

• St. Mary's School in Aliso Viejo just took first place at the 18th annual Maths Quest Competition in Oslo, Norway.

• Maths Quest is a prestigious international math competition for talented math students under the age of twelve.

• Four St. Mary's fifth graders and their two coaches travelled all the way from Orange County to Oslow Norway for three days of sightseeing and fierce competition.

• St. Mary's was the only United States school competing in Maths Quest.

• Last year, St. Mary's Maths Quest team travelled to Berlin, Germany where they received first place out of almost 30 teams.
