Michael Ian Black Is In Charge Of YouTube in Smosh's New Movie

Michael Ian Black plays the man behind YouTube in the new film, "Smosh: The Movie". It stars Anthony Padilla and Ian Andrew Hecox, which started Smosh back in 2003 as a website for Padilla's high school, Del Campo High.  The duo has become of the most popular channels on YouTube, and as of July 2015, the Smosh Channel has more than 20 million subscribers and 4.5 billion video views.

You can watch Michael's interview on our YouTube channel here.

During the Good Day LA interview, Michael talked about how different it is to gain an audience now versus the days when he got into the business. He said when he was starting in the early to mid '90s, he needed a network to have a television show, and now that's not necessary. Anthony and Ian from Smosh did their own thing and grew from scratch, building their audience over the years.

Michael is also on the Jim Gaffigan Show, which premiered last week.  You can watch Jim Gaffigan's interview from June here.

The movie is being released on July 23, 2015 and is available online for digital download at the Smosh: The Movie website.
