Freeway lanes reopened after fatal Orange County big-rig crash

FULLERTON (CNS) - Authorities today identified a motorist who was killed  when his car was hit head-on by an out-of-control big rig on the Orange (57)  Freeway in Fullerton.

Eric McEntarffer, 28, of Fontana died at the scene of the crash, which  occurred about 7 p.m. Wednesday just south of Chapman Avenue, according to the  Orange County coroner's office.

Five other people were hospitalized after the collision, which occurred  when the southbound big rig blew a tire and crossed the center divider into northbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A large forklift carried by the big rig also struck several vehicles. Lanes were blocked in both directions following the crash. Some lanes

were reopened by this morning's commute, but traffic was snarled as crews worked to remove the wreckage and repair the center divider. The freeway was reopened by late morning.
