Dan is a three-time Emmy award-winning journalist with over 20 years experience anchoring and reporting from Florida to California. From a car chase to a courtroom verdict, or a massive firestorm, Dan thrives during breaking news and considers it a privilege to help drive the conversation in L.A., Orange County, and the Inland Empire.
Born in San Bernardino, Dan considers himself a Southern California boy at heart. He spent part of his childhood in El Segundo, as well as a small town just outside Chicago. He received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, specializing in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Illinois.
Dan spent the last 15+ years helping San Diegans rise and shine, anchoring the #1 morning show at the CBS affiliate. Dan received two Emmy’s for his distinguished work anchoring live breaking coverage of the 2003 and 2007 firestorms in San Diego. He received a third Emmy for live anchor coverage of a deadly military jet crash in San Diego’s University City neighborhood.
Early in his career, Dan had a front row seat to the Bush/Gore Presidential recount in Florida in 2000 when he served as anchor/reporter at the ABC affiliate in Tallahassee. #hangingchads
