You can see Maria every day giving Los Angeles its daily weather forecast on the FOX 11 Morning News at 6am-10:30am. That's not all, in addition to her social media duties between 7 and 10am hosting myFOXla's Google+ hangouts with celebrity guests, many times she also anchors the news, as well as fill in on the Good Day LA program.

Before joining the FOX11 news team in May of 2000, Quiban spent two years as the weather anchor for daily 5, 6, 9, and 11 p.m. newscasts for OCN (Orange County News Channel). She also built and produced weather graphics for the station's nightly weather broadcasts. Before that she worked as the weeknight weather anchor for NBC Hawaii News 8 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Born in Cebu City, Philippines, Quiban grew up in Honolulu and studied Journalism at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 2005, Quiban earned her Meteorology degree from Mississippi State University.

Quiban volunteers her time speaking to young single mothers about her own experience as a single mom. Having her baby while still in high school left her with very early responsibilities. She enjoys sharing her experience of struggle and success in hopes of inspiring another teen mom to achieve her dreams.

When she's not reporting on the weather, she enjoys biking, swimming and hiking with her family.  She's also been known to take acting roles in movies and various television programs. Look for Maria in the Will Ferrell comedy ‘Step Brothers'. She was featured in the hit TV show ‘24', and films like ‘First Daughter', ‘Bruce Almighty" and in Clint Eastwood's thriller called 'Blood work.'  She also enjoys watching movies while eating lots of popcorn and, of course, watching the Weather Channel while surfing the net.
